"People choose to live in the suburbs for many reasons - housing opportunities, jobs, schools, safety. But too many people in the suburbs are living paycheck-to-paycheck, and are one event away from spiraling into suburban poverty. That's why we're here. SECORCares brings hope and dignity and a helping hand when “life happens.” We are committed to breaking the chains of suburban poverty and restoring those in need to self-sufficiency."

Most Teen Moms Live in Poverty
Hope House Colorado's story: It was shocking to discover that 67% of teen moms live below the poverty line – and even more shocking to discover how many are actually homeless or living in an abusive situation.
Today, Hope House is metro-Denver’s only resource providing free self-sufficiency programs to teen moms, including Residential, GED, and College & Career Programs. They also provide parenting and healthy relationship classes, life skills workshops and certified counseling, all designed to prepare teen moms for long-term independence. The residential program offers a safe, stable home for teen moms and their children who are homeless or living in an unsafe environment. The structured program empowers and equips parenting teen moms as they move toward personal and economic self-sufficiency.
