Holy Week, Pascha and COVID Protocols
All-Parish Announcement: April 23, 2021

Dearly Beloved in the Lord,

Glory to Jesus Christ!

As we approach Holy Week, the Trial & Passion of our Lord & Savior, and the Resurrection from the dead of Jesus Christ our True God, I am overjoyed that a great lifting of restrictions coincides with this most-holy time of the year for us!

First, I would like to point out updated protocols from His Eminence, Archbishop Benjamin: https://www.dowoca.org/2021/04/21/updated-covid-guidelines-from-his-eminence-archbishop-benjamin-april-20th-2021/

Second, we have learned that as of this past Friday, April 16, the State of Colorado has lifted all mandatory restrictions, aside from the wearing of masks in public facilities (mask mandate by the state was extended through the end of April), leaving restrictions up to local counties and municipalities. Since Douglas County has explicitly stated that it will impose no restrictions, and the Town of Parker has not imposed any either, from a civil authority perspective we are able to freely determine our own measures in response to the ongoing pandemic.

Given the above directives, and effective immediately, St. Tikhon Mission will:

  1. no longer offer online sign up for service attendance
  2. no longer take temperature upon entry
  3. no longer institute assigned "seating" in the sanctuary
  4. continue to ask all attendees to wear a mask, unless actively serving (priest or deacon), reading, or singing in the service
  5. continue to ask all attendees to reasonably distance, at least 1m, with those from outside your household
  6. continue to, weather permitting, promote airflow during services by propping doors
  7. continue to offer antidoron and zapivka in separate, disposable containers
  8. continue to request wiping one's lips after Holy Communion using a disposable napkin
  9. continue to prefer fellowship outdoors vs. inside
  10. continue to offer hand sanitizer and disinfect commonly touched surfaces after services

I am also extremely happy to affirm our planned schedule of services for the following 2 weeks:

Father Alexander
